London, Sep. 13 : The Indian team boycotted the ICC Awards in London on Monday after the ICC failed to send the invite on time. The team did get a belated call from the ICC, but by then, the players had made their own plans for the evening.
According to sources, one of the cricketers said they did recieve the invite, but it was too late and they had already made plans.
The BCCI, however, said that it had left the decision to the players whether they wanted to attend the ceremony.
According to reports, the team recieved a call from the ICC on Monday, the day of the event.
Reports also suggested that the ICC expected at least Team India captain MS Dhoni to be present at the event at which he was a nominee, but the skipper too gave the award ceremony a miss.
Meanwhile, contrary to the team''s claims, ICC officials claim they sent the invitation to BCCI well in time.
